Potsdam is the capital city of the German federal state of Brandenburger and is part of the Metropolitan area of Berlin. It is situated on the River Havel, 24 km southwest of Berlin city center. -wikipedia-
What I loved most about the city of Potsdam is that they have managed to retain their vernacular and identity. Almost all of the buildings were of the same size and material but yet almost all of the buildings have something unique about them. There are cathedrals and castles scattered amongst the landscape, left behind from royalty and clergymen, that create for beautiful landmarks and a sense of connection to the city, it's people, and it's history. The city of Potsdam has allowed for most of the historic architecture to become open to the public.
Centered.
ReplyDeleteI like that.
Also, nice narrative.
